About PIL

Pope Paul VI

Paul VI Institute of Liturgy aims to contribute to the on-going liturgical formation, in the spirit of Vatican II, of the clergy, religious, and lay Church workers in the Philippines.

In January 1990 the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines approved the establishment of the Institute. In March 1991 the Institute received recognition from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of San’t Anselmo in Rome.

The Certificate of Competency in Pastoral Liturgy is granted to participants who complete the three liturgical modules (summer) and present a research paper on a liturgical topic. A Certificate of Liturgical Formation is awarded to other participants who complete the three modules.

The formation offered by the Institute is a balanced program of liturgical study, community building, and liturgical celebrations. The Institute stresses the value of community life through the observance of daily common prayer, meals, and recreation.
